Amazing pair of handmade boots by Rios Of Mercedes in the USA. These are vintage boots custom made by Rios Of Mercedes artisans in the late 1990s. These are in fair condition considering the age, with some marks on both toes but the shafts and the feet are both in otherwise great condition. This pair is hand lasted and pegged and the vamps include the amazing genuine sueded hippo figure found in new and vintage hides hides. A pair of boots rarely reaches this age in this kind of condition. These boots are genuine hippo skin that is heavily regulated and completely legal add to that, they are fully wearable and will last many more years if taken care of properly. The interior Rios stamps and tags date these boots to the latter half of the 1990s. These boots are sized at a 10.5 D. There very few marks around the vamps, just fairly heavy toe scuffs, but you do not get to this age, without a little bit of character. These hippo boots are a bold classic exotic vintage style and would look great in any collection.
